JOB PURPOSE
The Industrial Controller supports Burberry Tecnica, reporting to the Senior Manager Finance, providing industrial controlling and financial analysis to enable effective decision-making across the Outerwear (OTW) division. The role contributes to cost control, margin analysis, budgeting and forecasting, ensuring financial visibility and discipline across the supply chain activities under Burberry Tecnica. Acting as a finance partner to Operations, Product and Supply Chain teams, the Industrial Controller supports performance monitoring, value creation initiatives and margin optimisation supporting in addition to SM Finance, the Finance Director too.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Industrial Controlling & Performance Analysis
- Support industrial controlling activities for Burberry Tecnica – OTW.
- Prepare and analyse cost, margin and performance reporting, ensuring data accuracy and consistency.
- Perform monthly variance analysis versus budget and forecast, highlighting key drivers and risks.
- Support standard costing reviews and collaborate with cross-functional teams involved in the costing process.
- Month End activities
- Support SM to manage month-end closing activities, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines
- Perform account reconciliations (balance sheet & P&L) and analyze key variances versus budget and forecast
- Analyze industrial costs (production, raw materials, variances) and support inventory valuation processes
- Prepare monthly reporting and provide management with insights on operational performance and margins
- Planning, Budgeting & Forecasting
- Support Contribute to Budget and Forecast
- Support seasonal forecasts by providing product costing and margin impact analysis.
- Monitor performance versus plan and support the variance analysis
- Business Partnering & Stakeholder Support
- Act as finance partner for Operations, Supply Chain and Product teams within Burberry Tecnica.
- Support analysis of suppliers and partners, including cost structures and performance monitoring.
- Provide financial insights to support sourcing decisions and operational trade-offs.
- Process Improvement & Reporting Tools
- Contribute to process simplification and standardisation initiatives within Industrial Controlling.
- Support the use and development of Business Intelligence tools (e.g. Power BI).
- Participate in automation and data quality improvement initiatives
PERSONAL PROFILE
- Master’s degree in Economics, Finance or similar
- 2-4 years experience in the role
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage and interpret complex data
- Ability to interact effectively with non-finance stakeholders
- Commercial mindset and understanding of cost and margin dynamics
- Experience with Business Intelligence tools (Power BI preferred)
- Previous exposure to industrial, supply chain or product controlling is a plus
