People Stories

Carley Lee
Programme Manager, Finance IT

“Burberry is all about its people. It’s the biggest cliché in the business, but it’s true. I work alongside such a wonderful team and I love seeing the leadership standards being reflected around me. It’s so refreshing to have an equal performance weighting on how we do things, as well as what we do – I really appreciate working in a place that has so much emphasis on our behaviour and rewards us for it. For example, on Wellbeing Fridays I get the time to look after my vegetable garden and practice yoga, which both keep me calm after a busy week and clear my mind. Our energy model has really shaped how I think about the importance of wellbeing, so I love talking about it with my team and keeping us all engaged with positive habits.

My work really varies day to day, but there’s lots of collaboration. Every day, I have a one-on-one with a team member or a mentee, a variety of meetings with business stakeholders and then some alone time to focus on my strategic work. This ranges from reviewing a process and finding improvements, to planning out our budget demand and identifying any risks to our spend.”
