People Stories

Charlotte Houghton
Health and Safety Manager, Corporate Affairs

“‘I’m about to celebrate my ten year anniversary at Burberry. It’s just such a special place, with very special people. From my first day, I’ve been consistently amazed by the talent, dedication and sense of community that exists here. Our creativity is celebrated and we’re always encouraged to innovate and push boundaries – it’s what creates an exciting and dynamic work environment. I’ve had so many opportunities to work on different projects, explore new ideas and showcase my skills. It’s made my time here truly enjoyable and I can’t wait for many more years at Burberry.

Last year, I suffered multiple losses on my journey to becoming a parent, but I had no doubt that I would feel supported by my team. Our Bereavement and Pregnancy Loss policy supported me and gave me some stability at a time when I didn’t have any. This enabled me to safely return to work as my authentic self, with the support of my team. The Women Empowered Employee Resource Group has also been invaluable. I’ve met people who share the same values as me, from promoting gender equality to supporting the professional growth of women and addressing any challenges that we might encounter in the workplace. It really has broadened my mind to the different functions across the business and supported my growth into becoming a more rounded and understanding employee.”

Available to all colleagues, we provide a dynamic digital learning destination with open access to self-directed, continuous skill-building resources.

Above and beyond our core offerings, we provide an ongoing calendar of developmental activities and events and offer a robust catalogue of professional development courses for England-based colleagues through our expanding Apprenticeship programme.
