Technology teams build and operate all technology solutions that powers Burberry experience internally and externally. The digital technology team specifically leads all customer experience, marketing technologies and customer management platforms globally. This teams sits in that magic intersection point of creativity, technology and commerce.

This dynamic, innovative community is made up of talented specialists including software engineers, solution architects, business analysts, project managers, product managers, designers and digital natives of all disciplines, all collaborating to explore and execute evermore inspirational and Innovative ways for customers to connect with the Burberry brand. This teams gets to work with a some of the most creative and innovative minds in industry within creative, marketing and digital commerce teams. We also work with a great ecosystem of software development, technology products and marketing partners. For instance, in China we work with Alibaba, Tencent amongst other dynamic ecosystems.


The Digital Technology team is growing into the Asia Pacific region and we are looking for a Head of Technology focused on Digital commerce, marketing, creative and customer platforms. This senior leader will be responsible to lead a highly skillful team for building and operating technologies for our website, 3rd party integrations (e.g. Akibaba, WeChat), WeChat mini-programs, marketing tech, customer service and creative tech.

As a member of the APAC Digital Technology leadership team, you will work closely with the global technology leadership team and local partners to ensure we the right technology strategy that meets our business ambitions. You will work closely with our local development partners and teams to continuously devise and deliver our strategy.

  • 8+ years of industry experience in delivering and operating e-commerce solutions in Chinese markets
  • Experience in leading devops teams in a product development model using modern agile and lean software development methodologies is required.
  • Experience in building and managing software development and operations team.
  • Experience in infrastructure specific to China (e.g. CDN, Cloud computing etc) is required.
  • Experience in working with high-speed and highly innovative culture is required.
  • Experience in managing globally distributed (China and West) development and creative teams is a big plus
  • Experience in delivering WeChat mini-programmes, T-mall integration, Chinese payment solutions etc. is a big plus
  • Experience in delivering in-store solutions (e.g. clientelling, POS) is a big plus.
  • Intimate knowledge of advantage and disadvantage between different social platforms.
  • Obsessive attention to detail for all facets of the software development, delivery and operation s process.
