Payroll Specialist

JOB PURPOSE

This position is responsible for managing payroll operations and statutory benefits in alignment with Korea labor law and internal HR policies.
The role ensures accurate and timely payroll processing while maintaining compliance and providing support to employees and stakeholders.

RESPONSIBILITIES

•    Consolidate monthly payroll variances (e.g., new joiners, leavers, HRIS updates, payroll components)
•    Administer annual leave entitlements, usage, and promotions, and reflect them accurately in the monthly payroll
•    Manage and deliver all payroll-related documentation to the payroll vendor and relevant stakeholders
•    Manage various types of employee leaves of absence (e.g., maternity leave, parental leave)
•    Coordinate and execute the year-end tax settlement process with the payroll vendor
•    Handle monthly and annual income tax reporting (e.g., withholding, TEQ)
•    Provide explanations for stock compensation and coordinate tax withholding with tax vendor
•    Calculate overtime for store staffs
•    Manage and monitor timecard data on a monthly and yearly basis
•    Communicate effectively with employees, especially store managers and senior management
•    Administer employee benefits, including language support, long service awards, welfare points, group insurance, and employee discount programs
•    Contribute to ad-hoc payroll and benefit-related projects as needed
•    Support annual audit procedures and ad-hoc meetings with auditors

PERSONAL PROFILE

•    Minimum of 2 years of payroll experience is required / Experiences in retail industry is preferred (not a must)
•    Strong knowledge of Korean labor law, withholding tax regulations, and HR systems (e.g., SuccessFactors)
•    Excellent data analysis skills
•    High competency in Excel
•    Strong communication skills with both internal and external stakeholders, including senior leadership
•    Good English skills would be a plus
