Technologist, Technical Assurance (Maternity Cover)

JOB PURPOSE

To ensure the technical integrity of raw materials and finished products through rigorous testing and data management. The role acts as a technical authority on testing standards across all product categories (Apparel and Non-Apparel), supporting quality, safety, and compliance.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Review and analysis of test failures reported weekly for raw materials and finished products.
  • Maintenance of accurate technical assurance data for Seasonal Men’s, Women’s and Children’s product trackers.
  • Communication to RMM / PE teams any test failures which represent a safety or quality risk.
  • Recording test failures and tracking resolution by the RMM / PE teams, vendors/suppliers or accredited testing laboratories as appropriate.
  • Providing data to RMM / PE team for root cause analysis of test failures and where required consultation on resolution of failed results.
  • Providing the Burberry conditional approval for any appropriate test failures.
  • Ensuring accuracy and maintenance of data for Burberry conditional approvals applied to raw materials and finished products.
  • Providing technical knowledge and expertise as required e.g. completing periodic reviews of standards conducted annually.
  • Ensuring fortnightly data for Burberry conditional approvals is provided to accredited testing laboratories and Burberry China quality team to support the Pre-CIQ process.
  • Supporting investigation of any product integrity test failures reported by the Burberry China team and notified to them by AIC or CIQ.
  • Working with Burberry cross functional teams, vendors and suppliers to ensure the understanding and implementation of existing and new Technical Assurance testing requirements.
  • Effective use of Flex PLM including loading of test reports and maintaining records.
  • Actively participate and facilitate Team PDR as needed.
  • Support with the management of textiles EPR schemes.
