Supply Chain Data Governance Lead

JOB PURPOSE

The Data Governance Lead is responsible for all aspects of defining and operating the data governance policies supporting the multiple data domains. The Data Governance Lead will provide the authority for all Data Governance oversight to ensure awareness across the organization and drive decisions for data standards and policies.

The purpose of this role is to work with the enterprise data manager to improve business processes, improve the quality of data within our core systems and define the data consistently across the business and systems.

Responsible for engaging with the data architects, systems owners and business users to ensure that data quality requirements are defined, documented and translated into effective and consistent processes that improve the quality of our data.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Accountable for running Data Governance Forums and act as a representative of the data governance lead;
  • Working with IT and business leadership team to establish data ownership, accountability and business as usual procedures;
  • Collaborates with existing Data Governance teams to align with the Group level governance principles;
  • Oversees the integrity, usability, and security of all data assets under Data Governance functions;
  • Works with business owners to define and establish data quality rules, definitions and strategy consistent with division and organizational strategies and goals
  • Guides through data governance concepts, explaining the benefits of data governance policies and procedures within the context of the user's needs;
  • Leads the Data Steward in the creation, reporting, compile and preparation of enterprise data quality metrics;
  • Works with Business Data Owners to lay out a roadmap to successfully implement governance around tools/technologies, resources and processes;
  • Collaborates with Data Leads, Data Analysts, Data Stewards, and IT areas to ensure data quality and availability;
  • Maintains artefacts surrounding best practices and standards related to data tools and technologies across the data domains.

PERSONAL PROFILE

  • Demonstrated aptitude in data governance activities and best practices;
  • Strong influencing skills at a senior level and across the firm, with the ability to credibly engage;
  • Ability to assess the effectiveness of the divisions arrangements to deliver effective governance, oversight and controls and, if necessary, oversee changes in these areas;
  • Communicate effectively at all levels and across all audiences; synthesizing complex issues and analysis to support decision making;
  • Experience partnering with Operations, IT and multiple business functions existing across Global AM;
  • Formal documentation of artifacts, and secure maintenance;
  • Familiarity with data quality method, storage repositories and tools across a global asset management landscape;
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills to communicate business and functional requirements to stakeholders;
  • Ability to identify, challenge and consider opportunities outside of conventional thinking to resolve problems and address gaps;
  • Ability to work effectively across a globally distributed set of stakeholders;
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytic skills.
