Senior Technologist, FTC

INTRODUCTION

The role is a Senior Product Technologist, who can work across Multi- Product RTW. Categories to include separates such as Shirting / Tops, Trousers / Bottoms and Denim.

The role will be positioned within the Product Engineering team and be required to work across both Menswear and Womenswear. This is a one-year maternity contract, ending approx. July 2026

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for the establishment of specs, sizing and measurement charts across all allocated styles within PLM.
    Measure and assess garments vs specs and BOM requirements to determine their accuracy.
  • Fitting garments across various stages of their life cycle, often with product development and design present to ensure optimal, commercial sizing.
  • Communicating comments, feedback, necessary testing to the allocated vendors.
  • Tracking production and industrialisation progress against business targets and KPI’s.
  • Risk assessment and reporting to be managed across all allocated products.
  • Responsible for actioning and managing any testing with the laboratories if required. Review and resolve any test failures
  • Work cross functionally with design, product development, merchandising, sourcing and external manufacturers throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Manage block libraries, fit language and definition of constructional quality standards within allocated category.
  • Knowledge of wash care, aftercare, proclaimer application, labelling and safety is essential.

PERSONAL PROFILE

  • Bachelor degree or similar in Fashion or Textiles, 5 years' experience working as a Product Technologist.
  • Extensive experience in development and manufacturing as well as working with external factories and vendors.
  • Experience within patterns, grading and fits.
  • Understanding of product testing, test methods, approval processes (labelling, wash care etc).
  • Knowledge of construction & manufacturing methods.
  • Knowledge of product safety and risk assessment across menswear and womenswear.
    PLM experience, MS Office skills.
  • Ability to influence & manage situations.
  • Self-starting and able to prioritise and focus workload.
  • Able to be pragmatic, commercial and realistic whilst not compromising the Burberry standard.
