Senior Product Technologist Outerwear (Maternity Cover)

JOB PURPOSE
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Translate Creative vision into precise technical product specifications, partnering closely with Design and Product Development
- Own fit, measurements and block strategy, ensuring consistency with Burberry fit standards and brand quality expectations
- Lead fit approval process, providing clear technical direction across cross‑functional teamsIdentify and drive cost engineering and material optimisation opportunities without compromising craftsmanship or quality
- Manage technical risk assessment to ensure product integrity and compliance from design through production
- Oversee print approvals and industrialisation in collaboration with vendors and 3D teams
- Partner with Raw Material and Sourcing teams to define care label content and material performance standards
- Lead comprehensive product testing aligned to identified technical and quality risks
- Build strong, collaborative relationships with global vendors, providing regular technical feedback
- Work cross‑functionally with Global Sourcing, Raw Materials, Quality Assurance and Product Development teams
- Manage pre‑production sample process, including PPS creation, PP approvals and factory meetings
- Track and communicate production risk, quality issues and critical path updates
- Support Quality and Customer Excellence initiatives, including technical input into product issues and root cause analysis
- Leverage Flex PLM, Excel and CLO 3D to drive efficient workflows, virtual fit and quality innovation
PERSONAL PROFILE

Degree‑level qualification in Fashion, Clothing Technology or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience

Extensive experience within the apparel industry, ideally within luxury fashion or premium outerwear categories

Proven experience working on Runway collections and/or within Technical Design in a luxury environment

Strong understanding of garment construction, with pattern cutting and grading expertise advantageous

In‑depth knowledge of apparel manufacturing processes and quality assurance standards

Solid understanding of raw materials, fabric performance and product testing requirements

Highly analytical with strong problem‑solving capabilities and attention to detail

Effective and influential communicator, able to lead technical discussions across cross‑functional teams and vendors

Highly organised, efficient and self‑motivated, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
