Senior Manager, Reward

JOB PURPOSE
The Senior Manager, Global Compensation is responsible for shaping Burberry’s compensation approach within the broader reward strategy. The role will ensure our compensation programmes are competitive, equitable, and aligned with our business strategy. The role will be responsible for a broad range of compensation elements, including base pay, bonus and variable pay programmes (including retail variable pay plans), job evaluation, pay transparency practices, global salary ranges, and external benchmarking. It will also lead our global annual reward review. The role will work cross-functionally with HR Business Partners, Talent Acquisition, Finance, Legal and senior business leaders globally to guide compensation-related decisions and ensure a consistent, fair and compliant approach across all of our regions. The role will also collaborate with other members of the Reward Centre of Excellence to ensure that our overall reward proposition is attractive and market-competitive. Reporting to the VP Reward, the role will manage a small team with regional compensation expertise and be expected to operate with a high level of autonomy, engaging with senior stakeholders and driving positive outcomes in a state of business transformation.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Partner across the Reward Centre of Excellence to define and execute a scalable, competitive, and equitable global compensation strategy
- Design, manage, and optimise short-term incentive programmes, including our discretionary corporate annual bonus plans and retail variable pay plans
- Lead communications on compensation to the business and in collaboration with the wider Reward Centre of Excellence
- Manage our global approach to job evaluation and partner with HR and the business to improve transparency into our grading structure
- Maintain and evolve global salary structures and ranges, ensuring alignment with external market data and internal equity
- Lead our global approach to pay transparency, advising on communication frameworks, governance, and compliance across regions
- Lead our approach to market benchmarking to ensure global compensation survey data allows us to assess market competitiveness and to ensure that we adopt the best approach to the provision of market data
- Provide strategic support on compensation matters to HR Business Partners and Talent Acquisition, including the development of compensation packages for new hires and internal mobility
- Lead the delivery of the global annual reward review cycle
- Develop and present clear compensation insights and recommendations to the business
- Support Retail Excellence colleagues in development of tactical incentives for retail staff that support the delivery of short-term business targets
PERSONAL PROFILE
- Proactive, independent and excited at the prospect of solving problems in a state of business transformation
- Extensive compensation experience working at a global/regional level
- Proven experience managing bonus and incentive pay programmes across multiple geographies
- Proven ability to persuade, influence and build credibility with all levels and functions
- Deep knowledge of compensation benchmarking tools and job evaluation methodologies (e.g. Radford, Mercer, Willis Towers Watson).
- Ability to analyse complex data and translate insights into actionable recommendations and process improvements.
- Very strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience influencing senior leaders.
- Comfortable navigating ambiguity and change and managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, global environment
- Proven experience of adopting a mindset of continuous improvement to make current ways of working more efficient and effective.

- Programmes and processes that support an ongoing ability to retain and attract the talent needed for the execution of Burberry’s strategy
