Senior Manager, Retail Excellence

JOB PURPOSE

This role is dedicated to building a powerful culture of Burberry training that upskills, inspires, and elevates our store teams. You will champion the adoption of essential learning mindsets, embed our selling ceremony, and drive flawless in‑store execution to strengthen team capability, engagement, and performance. Central to this role is developing, coaching, and motivating our regional Field Trainers to deliver commercial impact and enhance the client experience. You will create high‑quality, compelling, and regionally tailored collection training aligned with business and buying strategies, while bringing strong fashion culture expertise, styling talent, and deep competitive awareness to shape confident, fashion‑forward teams.

RESPONSIBILITIES

People management and development
  • Set clear objectives, plan and measure deliverables to achieve the commercial target
  • Responsible for the management and development of regional field trainers
  • Inspire and drive engagement of the Retail Training community by role modelling and apply a mentoring and coaching approach
  • Partner with the Regional Training teams to develop in-store training programs
  • Animate and develop 101 stylists to further embed brand values and drive performance at the store level.
 
Product expertise and people development
  • Ensure the coherence of the Collections training delivered to stores: meaningful client engagement, story tell, product expertise and styling approach to inspire our teams and execution is store.
  • Partner with Central Commercial in implementing, developing, and assessing existing and new programs.
  • Demonstrate consistent leadership and assertive communication, having the ability to understand market constraints and challenges and tailor the approach of our programs.
  • Ensure the right level of skills and commitment on coaching and developing, giving support to our Retail Learning community as well the store teams.
  • Collaborate with the Global Retail Excellence Team and Regional Training Managers in ensuring Global training programmes are landed effectively, and provide input on Regional needs
  • Partner with the EMEIA merchandising team to drive and deliver appropriate product training focused on driving key categories
  • Regular visits and presence in stores with the purpose of observing, assessing, supporting and elevating team skills/performance and the impact of training programs.

PERSONAL PROFILE

  • At least 8 years in retail training.
  • Experience in retail sales from fashion and luxury brands
  • People driven, ability to transmit passion and knowledge.
  • Capacity to deliver feedback at any level in the organisation.
  • Presence on the field (60% of the time), focus on ff stores
  • Action oriented with a drive for results.
  • Capacity to facilitate and lead training sessions
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and changing environment with moving priorities.
  • Respecting teamwork.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to interact with diverse people and organisations.
  • Agility, flexibility and creativity.
  • Knowledge of microsoft word, excel and power point for the purpose of producing training materials and presentations
