JOB PURPOSE

To ensure all Hardware and Trim is developed and engineered  to meet and exceed functional requirements and to standards that will delight the end consumer.
 

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Ensure all engineering activities are effectively executed, including but not limited to risk assessment, development & testing, cost engineering, root cause analysis testing & response,  pre and bulk production
  • Lead a team of Raw Materials experts that align with Design’s vision and can provide real time technical expertise for elevated luxury products
  • Lead Strategic Technical development through value engineering and enhanced technology
  • Lead team in holding Suppliers accountable to company expectations and drive to improve performance
  • Provide technical expertise and consultation to Design and Technical development teams
  • Expert Knowledge of capabilities and capacities, of Raw Material Suppliers in the matrix
  • Expert Knowledge on Material construction analysis and interpretation
  • Ensure the effective documentation and capture of product technical information
  • Ensure achievement of regulatory compliance
  • Timely, robust, customer focused decision making
  • Support the  monitoring of supplier performance, evolve supplier relationship
  • Contribute to the development of technical standards
  • Build relationships with experts in industry, academia, and trade associations to keep up to date on Technology , process and product advances
  • Establish strong working relationship collaboration with interfacing internal teams and with suppliers
  • Maintain an in-depth knowledge of latest government regulations, restrictions, safety protocols and performance standards related to hardware and trim
  • Train  team to trouble shoots all issues relating to Raw Materials development and arriving at effective, timely solutions
PERSONAL PROFILE
  • Degree in Materials Technology or  Engineering
  • Strong experience in Manufacturing
  • Experience in leading a technical development team in the luxury category
  • Experience in working closely with design
