Senior Finance Analyst - 12 month FTC

JOB PURPOSE

 

As the Senior Finance Analyst in the Burberry FP&A team, you will be responsible for producing the financial analysis reporting of the Group’s financial results. Supporting across the team, you’ll produce both internal management and Board reporting, as well as external financial reporting, including for the Group’s quarterly trading statements, interim and preliminary announcements. 

 

The role requires a commercial understanding as well as the ability to deliver logical and well thought-out analysis. You will continuously seek to improve processes, controls and the quality of deliverables. With a number of stakeholders and competing priorities, it will be necessary to prioritise effectively and communicate clearly.


This Senior Finance Analyst role is offered on a 12 month fixed term contract and will be based in our Horseferry House, London office for a minimum of 3 days per week.

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Jointly responsible for running the weekly sales reports process and distributing completed reporting to Senior Leadership Team. Ensure accuracy of reporting and be the super-user for the weekly sales tool 
  • Responding to a significant number of ad hoc queries, and analysis as required, prioritising work effectively to ensure that these queries are responded to on a timely basis
  • Consolidating regional submissions for the rolling sales forecast, liaising with the regional finance teams to understand changes and impacts 
  • Lead the production of the month-end reporting pack (full P&L) and assisting with the drafting of various sections of the monthly Board book
  • Work with Corporate Strategy team on monthly KPI analysis, aligning on reporting and ensuring accuracy of metrics and calculations
  • Support on sales reporting for external trading statements and P&L reporting for the interim and year-end statements, ensuring that all reporting is accurate, timely and fully evidenced
  • Act as a key point of contact for Regional Finance and Investor Relations teams
  • Supporting with the forecasting and budgeting process; consolidating regional submissions and performing ad hoc analysis where necessary

PERSONAL PROFILE

 

  • Qualified accountant ACA/CIMA 
  • Experience in a financial reporting and analysis role or similar, ideally within a large listed company with an international scope and a multi-currency environment
  • Experience in application of IFRS
  • Advanced Excel skills with experience of building and working with complex models and large data sets
  • Expert stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills, able to build relationships effectively
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Commercial acumen and mind-set, inquisitive to understanding the business in detail
  • Continually seeks to improve, formalise, or make processes more efficient
