Senior Colleague Communications Manager

PURPOSE:

You will act as a pivotal architect of Burberry’s internal narrative, harmonising our Responsibility and Human Resources visions to inspire a global collective. This role is about more than communication; it is about deeply embedding our commitment to a sustainable luxury future into the heart of our culture, ensuring every colleague is an informed advocate for our strategic people priorities.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serve as the Business Partner to HR and Responsibility to manage the creation of content and storytelling related to Burberry’s People Priorities and Responsibility agenda to inspire and connect colleagues to Burberry’s Purpose and Values. Key duties include:
    • Co-creating (alongside Corporate Communications Business Partners) and developing the Internal Communications Strategy for Corporate Responsibility and the execution for engaging and inspiring colleagues globally 
    • Work with Corporate Responsibility team to develop and activate carbon transition plan comms & training
    • Partner with stakeholders to embed Responsibility and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion key messages to feed into Burberry’s Corporate channels 
    • Embed Burberry’s values through considered communications and engagement activity including supporting elements of Burberry’s annual recognition program, the Burberry Icon Awards
  • Implement closed loop activity by being insight led and outcome driven, providing measurement and insight into the effectiveness of internal communications and colleague engagement 
  • Create and manage internal PowerPoint presentations, speaking notes for colleague engagement events, internal briefing notes, newsletters etc and deliver engaging and accurate content that is timely, targeted, creative and effective 
  • Collaboration with Retail Excellence to embed messaging across HR and Responsibility activity and where appropriate co-create bespoke content for Rspace

 

EXPERIENCE:

  • Relevant experience, and a proven ability to work well under pressure and create strong relationships, working across teams to deliver best in class communications, complemented by a friendly and flexible approach. 
  • Proven experience in report writing and PowerPoint presentations as well as ability to create compelling creative content e.g., videos, panel discussions, podcasts, broadcasts, web pages etc. 
  • A team player and a self-starter, able to use their initiative and be responsive to contact outside traditional working times. 
  • Experience working with digital channels including SharePoint 
  • Strong Internal Communications and Employee Engagement experience 
  • Experience of supporting strategy development and managing communications/design/digital agencies 
  • Passion for the brand and an understanding of the luxury/fashion industry
