Senior Business Analyst (Digital Commerce)

JOB PURPOSE

We are looking for a Senior Business Analyst to work on one or more projects within our Digital, Commerce portfolio of projects, bridging the gap between business needs and technical requirements on technology and reporting projects. You will work in partnership with business experts and technology teams to identify & implement solutions to meet the needs of evolving business models.

 

The Senior Business Analyst will be primarily focused on the Digital, Commerce portfolio but could in certain circumstances be required to work across projects within Digital or potentially Commercial Technology. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Partner with Business Functions to translate preliminary business needs into benefits, project scope and objectives, to meet strategic organizational goals
  • Be a change agent for new capabilities delivered
  • Support and participate in vendor selection activity by collating high-level requirements and scoring criteria and aligning this with business benefit.
  • Prepare and facilitate workshops by assimilating existing process content, identifying knowledge gaps, setting up the workshop agendas, identifying participants & creating workshop materials
  • Work at varying levels of detail, ranging from high level discussion at the start of the project, to capturing detailed requirements and working with the testing teams to scope and document test scripts
  • Communicate requirements to enterprise data and information leads, solution leads and development teams working collaboratively to develop solutions
  • Understand and uphold enterprise data and information principles in the development of both system and reporting solutions
  • Understand and visualize process changes and change impacts in collaboration with business stakeholders and Senior Manager, Product to establish mutual understanding and accountability.
  • Liaise closely with Senior Manager of Product, Project/Program managers, Business Analyst and Solution Architects to govern scope, manage change requests, and manage project risks.
  • Have a view of all projects within Digital in some cases the wider IT portfolio, to identify synergies and dependencies between projects and/or requirements.
  • Maintain and help to govern consistent Business Analysis methodology and ways of working across your stream and the wider domain.

PERSONAL PROFILE

  • Must be able to communicate effectively in both technical and business settings.
  • Proven ability to build relationships and partner with management stakeholders within the business and IT
  • Can clearly demonstrate delivering artifacts for each project phase, and link the business value created with the process and system improvement (preferably supported by industry certification)
  • Effective use of business modelling techniques: Process and workflow modelling (BPMN experience,
    preferred)
  • Experience in eliciting and documenting requirements resulting in quality deliverables, with limited direction
  • Basic understanding of data and information architecture principles
  • Basic understanding of user experience design principles
  • Experience in the Retail industry and ideally across Digital and / or consumer facing technologies.
