Regional Wholesale Planner (EMEIA) - Maternity Cover

Contract Type: Maternity Contract

This role sits within the Wholesale Excellence team and will drive all planning activities in the EMEIA Wholesale & Franchise region whilst also being part of Burberry’s wider global planning organisation. They will embody the Burberry values and contribute to a culture of innovation and collaboration.


They will be responsible for:

  • Developing seasonal plans and qualitative and quantitative financial analysis to drive the wholesale and franchise business
  • Manage the Beauty planning processes for Make Up and Fragrance
    The goal of this position is to drive the wholesale business (Revenue, EBIT) through strategic seasonal merchandise planning, controlled inventory management, actionable reporting, insightful commercial analysis and close partnership with the wholesale sales team.

Commercial Planning Excellence

•Overseeing top down pre-season financial targets for wholesale to support merchandising initiatives
•Support the development of strategic regional seasonal plans (division and product classification) for the wholesale & franchise channel.
•Maintain analysis of forecasting accuracy to drive the most accurate raw material procurement within Commercial Planning
•Develop sales targets for major customers by division, department and product classification (wherever possible door plans by customer will also be required)
•Provide quantitative and qualitative financial analysis in order to support the wholesale team and ensure achievement of business plans (including but not limited to sales and margin goals)
•Responsible for identifying risks and opportunities for specific products, merchandise categories and markets through historical and trend analysis
•Responsible for controlling and managing wholesale replenishment stock
•Responsible for managing monthly Open to Buy to highlight risks and opportunities in sales and inventory
•Responsible for execution, maintenance and distribution of sales and bookings reports 
•Develop regional monthly re-orders plans for in-season orders for Wholesale & Franchise.
•Collaborate with Customer Operations to fulfil inseason orders through free stock and retail pick-ups

Beauty Planning

•Responsible for Inventory and Open to Buy across Beauty areas,
•Responsible for reviewing inventory position and placing monthly re-orders
•Responsible for quantify re-orders/ new launches, ensuring all orders are raised and communicated with Coty
•Responsible for Coordinate Beauty Product Exits, Communicate with centre on putting delist strategy into practice
•Responsible for forecasting delist units and communicate to Outlet / Staff sale team

Wholesale Team

•Be part of the wider EMEIA Wholesale Excellence team driving improvement initiatives and looking for opportunities across the team, with product and customers
•Work with the EMEIA Wholesale Product team to understand focus areas, support insight and analysis on risks and opportunities
•Support the EMEIA Wholesale Sales teams to deliver their annual & seasonal targets


This role will work closely with the wider Wholesale & Franchise team, Merchandising, Central Outlet team, Central Planning team, Regional Planning teams, Merch Planning Operations, Supply Chain, Finance and Regional Commercial teams





  • Demonstrated experience in a regional wholesale planning role in a commercial and luxury environment
  • Demonstrated experience across commercial and beauty planning
  • Customer-oriented approach to problem solving
  • Well developed communication skills, with the ability to build positive working relationships with cross-functional teams
  • Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and experience of using BI reporting tools
  • Experience with SAP would be advantageous
