JOB PURPOSE

The Product Development Assistant will support the Product Development team in bringing exceptional collections to life. This role plays an important part in ensuring the smooth delivery of the end-to-end product development process, partnering closely with internal teams and external suppliers to maintain quality, accuracy and efficiency throughout the collection lifecycle. At Burberry, you will contribute to the craftsmanship, innovation and attention to detail that define our products, while helping the team translate creative vision into commercial reality.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain and update product information systems, ensuring accuracy and consistency throughout collection development.
  • Partner with Product Developers, manufacturers and suppliers to support timely delivery of prototypes, samples and production milestones.
  • Manage collection documentation, product information and development records to ensure clear visibility across teams.
  • Track development budgets and monitor prototype, trial and sample costs throughout the season.
  • Coordinate sample, swatch and archive management, maintaining organised and accessible product libraries.
  • Support fittings, meetings, shipments and day-to-day development activities to help the team deliver collections efficiently.

PERSONAL PROFILE

  • Experience supporting product development, merchandising or a related product function within fashion or luxury.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage large volumes of information accurately.
  • Excellent organisation and prioritisation skills, with the ability to manage multiple activities simultaneously.
  • Clear and effective communication skills, with confidence working across cross-functional teams and external partners.
  • Commercial awareness and an understanding of product cost management and budget tracking.
  • Passion for product, craftsmanship and fashion, alongside a proactive and solutions-focused approach to work.
