Pricing Manager

JOB PURPOSE
This role will be responsible for overseeing strategic pricing operations within Burberry’s global Merchandising & Planning function, reporting to the Senior Planning Manager of Merchandise Planning Operations. The successful candidate will lead by example, embodying Burberry’s values and championing a culture of simplification, innovation, and operational excellence.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead seasonal reviews of country pricing factors and recommend adjustments to ensure market relevance and profitability.
- Collaborate with Finance and the Senior Planning Manager to align seasonal pricing guidance with global pricing architecture and financial planning.
- Conduct in-depth analysis of local taxes, duties, and competitor pricing to support price positioning strategies for new market entries.
- Contribute to the development and evolution of Burberry’s long-term Global Pricing Strategy.
- Monitor competitor pricing trends to identify strategic pricing opportunities.
- Partner with product merchants to review key style pricing and performance, incorporating competitor insights to inform seasonal price adjustments.
- Oversee the seasonal price band process and ensure accurate implementation in Flex PLM.
- Manage the creation and maintenance of seasonal retail and wholesale factor files in SAP.
- Supervise the development of seasonal pricing documentation, including price indices and pricing change records.
- Direct markdown execution by coordinating with stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate pricing updates.
- Manage quarterly price change requests and approvals, ensuring seamless execution with Product, Retail, and BI Pricing Data teams.
- Act as the primary liaison with the BI Pricing team for ad-hoc pricing queries, seasonal realignments, and emergency adjustments.
- Lead, develop, and elevate the pricing team to drive business growth and establish a best-in-class pricing function.
- Foster a culture of coaching and mentoring to support the personal and professional development of team members.
PERSONAL PROFILE
- Proven experience in pricing, with a strong grasp of both micro- and macroeconomic factors influencing global pricing strategies.
- Deep commercial awareness and understanding of the dynamics within a retail business environment.
- Demonstrated success in leading and managing teams within fast-paced, high-performing luxury or commercial settings.
- Creative and customer-centric approach to solving business challenges, with a focus on innovation and value creation.
- Collaborative and dynamic leadership style, capable of building strong cross-functional relationships and translating strategic goals into actionable plans.
- Exceptional attention to detail, paired with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with SAP systems is highly desirable.
