Group Financial Accountant - 12 month FTC

JOB PURPOSE

 

As a Group Financial Accountant at Burberry, you’ll work as part of a high-performing team covering a range of activities, including month end reporting responsibilities, year-end and interim statutory group reporting responsibilities. This role in particular focuses on IFRS 2 share schemes, treasury intercompany and financial instruments accounting, as well as statutory reporting across the business.


This Group Financial Accountant role is offered on a full time basis for a fixed term period of 12 months, and will be based in our Horseferry House, London office for a minimum of 3 days per week.

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

IFRS 2 Share Schemes

  • Computation of IFRS 2 share based payments charge for the group, including the monthly impact on related accounts
  • Preparation of centrally controlled accounting adjustments as well as analysis & reporting schedules for forecast and budget periods
  • Responding to queries, undertaking ad-hoc analysis & supporting with projects related to share schemes


Treasury Intercompany & Financial Instruments Accounting

  • Extracting and communicating the intercompany loans position  and liaising with the Group treasury team to ensure accuracy of information
  • Determining derivative fair value, bond accounting and hedge accounting transactions
  • Preparing analysis around movement in the derivative fair value and Group


Statutory Reporting

  • Responsible for the preparation, analysis, submission & disclosure across various entities (including Group and subsidiaries)statutory accounts, including investment impairment workings
  • Liaison with external auditors where necessary
  • Preparation of schedules to support Audit Committee papers when needed

PERSONAL PROFILE

 

  • Qualified accountant (ACA or equivalent)
  • Experience in audit from a large international firm, ideally with exposure to FTSE listed organisations
  • IFRS experience
  • Listed PLC international group experience
  • UK GAAP / FRS 101 experience preferred but not essential
  • Strong sense of responsibility
  • Ability to troubleshoot, suggest solutions and see issues through to completion 
  • Great attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritise workload to meet required deadlines
  • Good commercial awareness
  • Ability to work independently as well as being a strong team player
  • Proven communication skills 
  • Motivated self-starter with the ability to take initiative
