Job Purpose:

We are looking for a high-potential candidate to join the Data & Analytics team as a Data Analyst focused on Data Product. The role will be responsible for analyzing, shaping and maintaining data assets and data products aimed at an internal audience spanning all business divisions, offering the opportunity to work a wide range of datasets and business specialties.

Core skills are a must, so candidates are expected to demonstrate examples of problem solving and the use of data to solve problems. This can be from either an academic or work experience setting.

You will regularly partner with analysts, data scientists, engineers and, most importantly, business stakeholders. As such, you will be expected to interpret and understand the requirements and ways of working of those you are supporting, ensuring data products and insights are shaped to deliver the most effective outcome for the challenge presented. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about learning at a fast pace and getting hands-on with data analysis and data product development in a creative, fast-moving business.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyse business requirements and translate them into clear, well-structured data product features and improvements, working closely with the wider Data Product team
  • Explore, profile and quality-check data to identify trends, gaps and opportunities that inform the ongoing development of data products across the business
  • Work quickly to prototype, test and iterate analysis, reports and data views that support how data products are designed and evolved
  • Develop into a go-to contact for data-related queries relating to the Data Product roadmap, supporting stakeholders in interpreting and using data products effectively
  • Support the creation and maintenance of documentation covering data structures, definitions and assets, ensuring clarity and consistency for end users

Personal Profile:

  • Bachelor's degree or above in a mathematical or problem-solving field, for example Engineering, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science or a related discipline
  • Hands-on experience with SQL is required; experience with other analytical tools or languages (e.g. Python, Looker/Tableau) is highly valued
  • Basic knowledge of data architecture and semantic layer concepts would be valued, though not essential
  • You are a natural problem solver with the ability to work collaboratively and adaptively across teams
  • Able to learn rapidly and develop technical and analytical skills to support a varied stakeholder group
  • A team player who is self-motivated and demonstrates a clear passion for using data to solve problems
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to translate data into clear insight for non-technical audiences
