Coordinator, ESG Operations

JOB PURPOSE

As the ESG Operations Coordinator you will play a critical role in ensuring responsible sourcing and vendor/supplier engagement in Burberry’s supply chain. You will be at the forefront of our commitment to drive and embed sustainability best practice in Burberry’s supply chain through certification management, sourcing controls and traceability.

You will be responsible for the collection, analysis and management of critical datasets, contributing valuable insights and risk analysis, ensuring compliance with ESG legislation and contributing to achieving Burberry’s sustainability targets. You will develop a deep understanding of Burberry’s supply chain and vendor/supplier network, directly impacting our operational, commercial and responsibility priorities.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Data Collection, Management and Analysis

  • Accurately collect, validate and analyse sourcing-related data, including country of origin data, certification, product volumes and audit results
  • Conduct robust and audit ready analyses, identifying trends and mitigating supply chain risks
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive database of vendors/suppliers, material attributes, certification and vendor performance

Project Management

  • Contribute insights to strategic projects to drive improvement on vendor/supplier engagement, process management and implementation
  • Develop and manage reporting of traceability and responsible sourcing insights to keep internal and external stakeholders informed on vendor performance, sourcing risks and progress against Burberry’s material targets (certification management)
  • Identifying opportunities for improvement to enable traceability and simplify navigation of key traceability tools for vendors and suppliers
  • Contribute collaborative ideas and streamlining processes to drive continuous improvement 

 Stakeholder Engagement and Communication

  • Support the creation and maintenance of training materials, including delivery of training to internal and external stakeholders to maintain up-to-date understanding of evolving traceability and responsible sourcing needs
  • Serve as the key point of contact between vendors/suppliers and traceability partners
  • Act as a thought partner to supply chain teams (global sourcing, raw material procurement, product development and product sampling) to ensure strong adherence to responsible sourcing and traceability requirements
  • Produce data dashboards and visualise complex datasets to simplify communication of key progress updates, KPIs and performance metrics

PERSONAL PROFILE

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Sustainability, or a related field
  • Minimum 2-4 years of relevant experience in data analysis, data management, and reporting, preferably within a supply chain or compliance environment
  • Ability to communicate complex subject matter in a clear, concise, and compelling manner, both verbally and in writing
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office, including Excel (e.g., pivot tables, advanced formulas) and PowerBI (e.g., data visualisation, dashboard creation)
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Demonstrated analytical and statistical skills, including the ability to identify trends, anomalies, and potential risks within large datasets
  • Exceptional organisational skills, attention to detail, and commitment to data accuracy
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Industry knowledge in fashion and textile manufacturing, with a particular focus on responsible sourcing practices is preferred 
  • Experience in corporate sustainability, compliance, legal, or luxury industries is a plus
  • Proficiency in a second language relevant to Burberry's global supply chain is a plus
  • Experience with supply chain mapping and traceability technologies is preferred
