JOB PURPOSE
As Climate & Nature Data Manager, you will support Burberry’s identification and management of climate and nature-related risks, and Burberry’s voluntary and compliance ESG reporting.
You will be an essential part of our Corporate Responsibility team, leading the management of Burberry’s Scope 3 GHG emissions accounting and reporting. This will require you to leverage a range of internal and external data systems and tools (including third party GHG accounting software), and to act as Burberry’s point of contact during the annual external assurance of Burberry’s Scope 3 GHG data. You will also contribute to the delivery of Burberry’s climate and nature strategies, by modelling baseline GHG emissions scenarios; assessing the potential/ actual impact of carbon reduction measures, and developing practical environmental metrics and KPIs for use across the business.
This Climate & Nature Data Manager role is offered on a full time, permanent basis and will be based in our Horseferry House, London office for 3/4 days per week.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead Scope 3 GHG data collection and calculation processes, leveraging a range of data systems and tools (including third party carbon accounting and traceability software) and serving as Burberry’s contact for the third-party assurance of Burberry’s Scope 3 GHG data
- Lead ongoing revisions to Burberry’s Scope 3 GHG accounting methodology and science based targets in line with external frameworks (e.g. GHG Protocol, SBTi)
- Work with external partners and internal business teams to increase the automation, quality, governance and controls of Scope 3 GHG data collection and calculation processes
- Support the ongoing development and delivery of Burberry’s climate Transition Plan by modelling baseline GHG emissions scenarios; assessing the potential/ actual impact of carbon reduction measures, and developing practical Transition Plan-linked metrics and KPIs
- Support the development of Burberry’s approach to product carbon footprinting and lifecycle assessments, in line with external standards (e.g. PEF, ISO14040, ISO14044)
- Support the development of Burberry’s nature strategy and targets by identifying and providing Burberry data which can be used to assess nature-related risks and impacts
- Support the preparation of relevant mandatory and voluntary ESG disclosure requirements, such as IFRS Sustainability, TCFD, CDP and our annual report
