Working as part of the burgeoning Brand team at Burberry, the Art Director will work across a wide range of innovative creative projects with physical, digital and motion applications. Reporting to the Senior Art Director the Art Director for Brand will be largely involved in the concepting and executions of visual strategy on a wide variety of projects that Burberry create outside of the regular fashion calendar. 

The ideal candidate will have a keen fashion aesthetic as well as an strong understanding of editorial and graphic design, be a dynamic researcher and be passionate about bringing creative ideas to life. Fitting within a wider creative team the position requires an in depth understanding of imagery, composition and design, as well a strong ability to innovate and collaborate across departments and marketing initiatives.

The position in this highly-driven creative team demands a confident, passionate and experienced creative with an intuitive understanding of image-making within the luxury fashion industry, and a strong ability to collaborate and motivate others. Seeing a diverse range of projects through from research to concept to completion requires someone with excellent communication skills, as the frequent collaboration points include photographers, producers, stylists, set builders, designers, retouchers, packaging design as well as the wider business.

The successful candidate will have at least 5 years' proven Art Direction experience across varied shoots and campaigns and a range of media – An ability to make timeless, beautiful work in innovative new formats and media is essential.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Following a brief from developing concepts from sketch and mood board phase.
  • Creating and delivering presentations and campaign layout to the highest standard.
  • Working across photo shoots and productions.
  • Collaborating with production and post-production teams, ensuring that you are conscious of timelines.
  • Collaborating with external suppliers, partners and agencies to ensure consistent quality.
  • Liaising with the wider Creative Media team to ensure content is used effectively.
  • Presenting ideas to peers and senior members of the team.

PERSONAL PROFILE:

  • Experience of concepting and execution of a range of creative projects including physical, digital and motion.
  • Strong photographic aesthetic and discerning eye for detail. 
  • Good communication, collaborative skills and calm under pressure
  • Creative flair, originality and a strong artistic sense.
  • Excellent research and connecting skills. Awareness of current creative trends and innovations.
  • Confident, energetic with a pro-active positive attitude and the ability to work under tight timelines.
  • Adobe Creative Suite experience (In Design, Illustrator and Photoshop essential).
  • Preferred Qualification: Bachelor of Arts Degree or equivalent
