Finance Manager, Reporting and Decision Support

The role reports to the Senior Manager, Reporting and Decision Support at Burberry Business Services (BBS) in Leeds.  This newly created role will oversee the quality and timely delivery of standard Finance management reports and relevant analysis for Finance stakeholders.  


The successful candidate will also be responsible for:

•    Executing Management Reporting processes, including identifying and implementing new reporting opportunities 
•    Owning, maintaining, and controlling the standard suite of management reports for stakeholders referencing non-financial metrics as appropriate
•    Driving continuous improvement within the team
•    Mentoring and coaching the RDS team and building out the team’s capability and experience


The successful candidate will have exposure to Finance Business Partners and Senior Management and will need to manage the demand from these key stakeholders.  The person will play an important role in the Finance Transformation journey. 



Key accountabilities and deliverables


Project Transition Phase:

•    Partner closely with project team (London) to take ownership of the processes and procedures in the production of periodic management reporting delivered by the project team.
•    Ensure the RDS team have produced and maintained a full set of standard desktop procedures to prepare for BAU activity.
•    Familiarise and be able to run SAP BPC and Think Cell tools for the production of reports (in addition to Excel and Powerpoint)
•    Where applicable, support the recruitment, training and up-skilling of the RDS team in preparation of BAU/CoE go-live.
•    Instil a best-in-class attitude of all team members by insuring timely and accurate outputs to key stakeholders. 


BAU (Post Project completion)

•    Build strong and trustworthy relationships with senior Finance stakeholders and acting as a first escalation point of contact for RDS issues and ad-hoc requests
•    Driving and managing the production of reports to the agreed quality standards and  provision of the standard commentary and simple analysis
•    Managing a team of RDS analysts to deliver assigned standard reports and prioritise ad-hoc requests 
•    Ensure consistent high quality of service delivery by the RDS team including reporting accuracy and integrity, acting on customer feedback and assigning and prioritising ad-hoc requests / issue resolution
•    Review and sign off on process documentation / Standard desk top procedures for live reports and ensure reporting library, user access and stakeholder lists are kept up to date.
•    Identifying and delivering opportunities for process and service delivery improvements 
•    Act as a team lead supporting performance, career development and professional learning needs

  • University degree in business/accounting/finance/economics or other related fields
  • Preferably, holding a professional finance qualification (CIMA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent)
  • Excellent communicator with the ability to thrive under pressure and operate effectively in a cross-functional team
  • Highly analytical with impeccable attention to detail with an ability to troubleshoot and identify data issues
  • Advanced/Expert MS Excel and PowerPoint skills



  • Experience (4-6 years) as a senior finance analyst/manager within a large organisation
  • Experience of managing a team and senior stakeholders across organisation
  • Experience of delivering standard reports to schedule 
  • Experience in managing critical risks and issues and identifying and delivering process improvements
  • Experience of working with multiple information sources and using databases.  Prior usage of ERP systems and applications such as SAP BPC.
