JOB PURPOSE
As the Category Manager, Travel at Burberry, you'll partner with the business to deliver high quality, cost effective & efficient travel booking solutions for the business. While operating as the subject matter expert for all travel services and suppliers, you'll also support wider strategic projects and the day to day activities across Commercial Procurement.
This Category Manager, Travel role is offered on a full time, permanent basis and will be based in our Leeds office for a minimum of 3 days per week.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Engaging with and managing stakeholders and suppliers within the travel industry, include airlines, hotel groups, transfer and car hire groups, rail and immigration specialists to provide the best solutions for the business when travelling
- Managing the relationship with our corporate travel management (CTM) provider, ensuring they are adhering to SLA's, budgets and company policies
- Developing and implementing effective procurement strategies
- Using industry knowledge and research to ensure awareness of any changes that may impact the travel category
- Working closely with Legal and Info-Sec to ensure quality contracts are in place with credible suppliers
- Providing regular reporting on travel budget, traveller behaviour, savings, compliance projects and supplier performance
- You will be required to supporting with bookings, itineraries and logistics for VIPs during high-profile events & busy periods
- Identify and implement a programme for continuous improvement
PERSONAL PROFILE
- Extensive operational and commercial experience within the travel category
- Experience of forming and managing effective stakeholder and supplier relationships
- Ability to deliver tangible results whilst working in a challenging and ever changing environment
- Good Excel skills, able to analyse data and present effectively
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Expert negotiator, demonstrated resilience and ability to respectfully challenge while maintaining balance and warmth of professional relationships
