JOB PURPOSE

The role supports the LG Operations Quality team in ensuring the consistent application and monitoring of quality standards across the Leather Goods unit. This includes contributing to the implementation of procedures, standards, and specifications; supporting quality processes and problem resolution; and actively participating in testing activities for raw materials, semi-finished, and finished products. The position plays a key role in reporting and tracking data to support Quality KPIs, as well as maintaining the overall quality management system and contributing to the continuous improvement of quality performance across the organization.

The role supports the Leather Goods unit by contributing to the implementation, execution, and continuous improvement of quality processes, standards, and controls. It ensures product compliance with Burberry’s performance and aesthetic requirements through cross-functional collaboration, data analysis, and operational support across the product lifecycle—from raw materials to finished goods.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Report and comment on quality KPIs daily, weekly, monthly, by collecting inspections data to identify manufacturer & product performance and point of improvement
  • Cutting Board: Defining for new raw material the proper cutting parameter based on Burberry performance requirements and material characteristics. Activity performed together with our cut department, purchasing and shared with all our vendor base
  • Quality Alert: Create for key projects the standard documentation to define all the relevant quality approval criteria, product specific characteristics to be shared and explained to hubs, merch team and store. Activity mainly done with suppliers & PE involved during pre-production phase
  • Testing processes for materials, finish product & op: ensure items are tested in a timely manner by participating actively to the process (including the identification of what to test, clarifying test packages, following sample making, interacting with accredited lab houses, reviewing and sharing results);
  • Analyse materials and products test results to provide information on product risks and non-compliances and maintain data in quality trackers as needed to understand, assess, and anticipate any risks;
  • Participate in technical and handover meetings, providing quality data and support;
  • Support the Quality Inspection with root cause analysis in case of non-conformities raised up and participate to Corrective Action Plans for quality issue resolutions;
  • Support Regional Hub for driving them during QCs
  • Manage NCs opened from hubs or customer claims in term of analysis, repairs procedure or actions by cooperating with our technical department
  • Participate to specifications and quality standards definition as well as implementation across the Leather good business unit;
  • Report and monitor data to support quality KPIs;
  • Participate to the testing processes for raw materials, semi-finished items, finished goods;
  • Support Quality team in quality processes and problem resolutions, procedures, standards, and specifications implementation across the Leather Goods unit;
  • Support the process & program for Quality Management;
  • Participate actively to the overall quality organisation to allow the whole quality processes; executing and maintaining our standards and expectations.

PERSONAL PROFILE

  • Degree in product or materials technologies, quality or engineering;
  • Excellent skills in Excel, Power BI, Pack office;
  • Proficient in English and Italian;
  • Knowledge in PDM and data management;
  • Leather Goods product knowledge a plus;
  • Knowledge in quality management, manufacturing or engineering appreciated.
