Senior Pattern Technician

Purpose: 

Burberry is seeking a Senior Pattern Technician to lead our Pattern Team, manage pattern construction, amendments, and grading, and ensure size chart accuracy. This role involves measuring samples, developing innovative pattern techniques, and collaborating closely with the Design, Product Development, and Product Engineering teams in London, as well as the Technical department in Castleford, and other cross-functional teams to support new style launches and maintain high-quality standards.

 

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Based in Castleford, with flexibility to work in Horseferry House, London, as needed for business/seasonal demands.
  • Communicate new style launch details from PD/Design/PE teams to relevant teams effectively.
  • Create, grade, and amend patterns from sketches, basic blocks, or reference samples to meet design and production requirements.
  • Develop and adjust basic blocks for new styles and shapes as requested by the design/PD team.
  • Digitally create and update patterns using Lectra and Clo3D systems, and digitise paper patterns with all necessary details.
  • Prepare patterns for manufacturing, including seam allowances, notches, grain lines, and labels, and support the production team to ensure quality standards.
  • Update technical packs with size charts, trim sheets, fusing details, and other relevant information.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide cost-effective production methods, support fit sessions, and assist in sampling approvals.

 

 

Experience: 

  • Minimum 3 years working experience as Pattern Cutter/ Engineer/Technician.      
  • Digital pattern cutting experience is must. Modaris/Lectra Experience would be considered as strength.
  • Strong knowledge in fit, body movement and body proportion.
  • Clo3D - knowledge is advantage.
  • Rainwear and outwear experience is an advantage.
