Marketing & Communications Coordinator

JOB PURPOSE

Support the Marketing and Communications team on brand, product, retail and wholesale marketing and communications functional planning. Aid in the development and execution of regional marketing and communications plans and streamlining communication between region and global. Support the VP of Marketing and Communications with admin tasks. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

Media:
•    Support marketing team on 360 integration of marketing + media initiatives with all functions including events, partner marketing, PR and VIP teams
•    Liaise with external media agency as well as with media vendors to ensure flawless execution in plan development
•    Work with the agency to compile vendor specs and create asset flighting for all campaign activity
•    Liaise with creative assets provider to ensure accurate and timely traffic/delivery of campaign materials for all vehicles via Asana
•    Manage mall lease required advertising obligations

Events:
•    Assist Events Coordinator on event opportunities, event and partnership logistics, sourcing event partners
•    Provide logistical support for commercial, brand, wholesale and internal events – this includes coordination of catering, evite/invite management, calendar management, list and RSVP coordination, recaps and follow from events, Regional Event recaps, delivery of collateral and communication to the stores
Cross-Functional:
•    Partner with digital and retail teams to ensure key regional products are supported sufficiently via bought media and marketing activities
•    Oversee all content capture requests for marketing initiatives as well as postproduction schedules
•    Communicate with Global on a weekly conference call to discuss pending events
•    Work to streamline events communications and manage the events calendar, working closely with Client Engagement, Visual Merchandising, Retail Operations and Marketing
 
Team Support:
•    Create recaps of media, marketing and events activations surrounding major seasonal initiatives/launches
•    Maintain marketing calendar and timelines 
•    Manage upkeep of Americas events contact lists for vendors, suppliers, charities, guests lists and hosts 
Research & Development:
•    Seek, investigate and actively pursue innovative communications opportunities, keeping abreast of current events, media trends and target market industry trends that impact business
•    Manage competitive tracking, research and analysis, examining what other competitive luxury brands are doing across all bought media channels on an on-going basis
•    Perform ROI analysis and compile key learnings and results post events 

Administrative Functions:
•    Support VP of Marketing and Communications with extensive calendar coverage, expenses, travel bookings, meeting prep and note taking as needed
•    Support Director of Marketing with administration tasks as needed, calendar and travel bookings
•    Partner with accounting, media agency and events vendors to manage billing process. 
•    Closely track and reconcile both media and marketing budget
•    Create and maintain POs and VAs
 

PERSONAL PROFILE

•    Proven experience in print or digital media within a high-profile brand or agency environment.
•    1-3 years of experience planning and executing events, preferably within Retail, Fashion and/or PR Agency 

•    Proficiency in Adobe Suite and Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook) is needed for communicating effectively and leading sophisticated timelines.
•    Independently drive projects forward while also being highly organized to meet overlapping deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
•    A diligent approach ensuring all creative aspects—layout, color palette, copy—are perfectly aligned with Burberry’s global standards before going into production.
•    Knowledge of the marketplace and pop culture trends 

•    Appreciation and general understanding of the luxury industry

•    Ability to work evenings and some weekends

•    Some travel required; up to 20%

MEASURES OF SUCCESS

•    VP of Marketing and Communications is fully supported
•    Marketing and Communications team is supported in admin related areas
•    Successful product launches driven by cross- functional marketing planning resulting in increased sales
•    Management of retail and wholesale activation calendars and organized communication between departments

  • Expected base salary for the role will generally be between $ 40.87/hour and $41.83/hour at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.

 

  • This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
