Working as part of a dedicated team you will assist in the production of the Burberry iconic fabric.  To operate the drawing-in machine, knotting machine,  to wind warp and weft packages, produce warps on sectional warping machine, and produce sample warps on the GOM of outstanding quality ensuring always that they are of the correct material & length and that yarn is always run onto the correct cone type, colour and size. To be aware of priorities within the Mill, and respond accordingly to match the production plan. You will work to the highest quality whilst achieving daily targets and ensuring continuous production by ensuring highest productivity on the winding machinery.


  • Maintaining safety aspects of all Preparation machines i.e. All Control Buttons – Safety Guards
  • Ensure that all the packages are wound to the specification and to a high standard
  • Execute the daily and weekly preventative maintenance programme
  • Ensure that all the yarns to be used are of the specified count, colour and material
  • To utilise all the machinery to its full potential at all times
  • Ensure relevant documentation for package identification are present, both warp and weft
  • To follow company procedure on the documentation of logging faults & repairs on all machines and passing to the line manager
  • Aid in the creation of standard operating procedures for all tasks
  • To aid with the implementation of 5s and to sustain standards


  • Textile background – experience working on textile machinery  to high quality standards
  • Ability to follow instructions and specifications
  • Precision and accuracy
  • Attention to detail
  • Problem solving using Lean tools and techniques
  • GSCE Grade C or above in Maths and English (or equivalent)
