JOB PURPOSE

To ensure appropriate procedures, people and Back of House tools are in place to effectively support the sales teams to deliver against Key Performance Indicators. Through effective leadership embed Burberry Behaviours in the back of house, driving a positive culture of accountability to ensure all standards, maintenance and Health and Safety are delivered.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Effectively use space and stock in the back of house to maximise productivity and minimise wastage through management of the team and resources;
  • Oversee the stockroom team, providing clear instructions and feedback to influence and drive in store productivity and client experience;
  • Manage the alterations and repairs process including co-ordination with on-site tailors and external vendors to elevate the client experience;  
  • Manage the monogramming resources and equipment to ensure highest standards are met;
  • Maintain the highest standard with regards to maintenance and Health and Safety;
  • Support the Store Manager to manage the Asset and Profit Protection team in order to effectively reduce shrinkage;
  • Manage the cash office / administrator to ensure all cash and payment procedures are followed;
  • Support the Store Manager with all procedures put in place to streamline and safe guard the store
  • Ensure that the store operates in accordance with store and company administration systems and procedures and to minimise losses;
  • Work closely with Retail Standards and Operations team regarding store issues such as deliveries, dispatches, facilities, uniforms, maintenance, procedures and Health and Safety;
  • Enforce all working practices of security with regard to all stock and administration procedures.
     

EMPLOYEE RELATIONS AND STAFF TRAINING/DEVELOPMENT
 

  • Provide effective leadership for all Back of House staff;
  • Ensure that staff are providing an excellent level of customer service and meeting the general needs of the company and its customers;
  • Initiate on-the-job training for new staff;
  • Ensure that all employees under your control are well presented and complying with the Company dress code.
     

HEALTH AND SAFETY

  • Champion Health and Safety in store ensuring that all local and Burberry Health and Safety legislation is adhered to within store for both staff and customers;
  • Ensure all staff on site are trained and well versed with local and Burberry Health and safety regulations;
  • Effectively communicate, escalate and follow up on any Health and Safety issues to Retail Standards and Operations and local Health and Safety Manager for resolution.

     

COMMUNICATION

  • Set up and complete regular communication channels to provide qualitative feedback to the Store Manager and the Retail Standards and Operations team.



GENERAL

  • Maintain the highest standards of housekeeping and retail standards;
  • Support Retail Standards and Operations team to deliver and embed in store initiatives providing effective feedback and suggestions to ensure business success;
  • Complete regular review of the operation to ensure it continually improves to drive in store productivity and retail excellence;
  • Complete in advance rotas to ensure that the necessary resources are available to support trade;
  • Participate in stock takes outside of normal working hours to ensure a smooth operation at all times;
  • Carry out any additional duties as directed by the Store Manager or Retail Standards and Operations.

  • Proven commercial awareness and ability to problem solve in minimising risks and overcoming obstacles.
  • Proven ability to work in highly pressured roles.
  • Ability to be flexible and agile to meet business needs.
  • Demonstrate sound commercial and brand awareness.
  • Proven strong operational performance within a high volume and high turnover retail environment. Other relevant service sector experience will be considered.
  • Technical proficiency with SAP and MS applications.
