Raw Materials Coordinator (Knitwear)

JOB PURPOSE

This position will concretely support the Knitwear development processes and the yarn archive building, in order to support the Product Developers launch and the exclusive developments with suppliers.  

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Yarn Raw material management  
  • Partnering closely with Design and PD teams to understand and develop seasonal yarn requests  
  • Research and develop sustainable yarn options for production 
  • Work closely with the mills in supporting the vendors to order and lab dip yarns  
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with yarn mills  
  • Technical understanding of Yarn characteristics / count / fibre  
  • Management of left over sampling yarns/stock 
  • Maintain yarn bibles with all relevant information 
  • Attend yarn fairs (Pitti) to research new yarns and maintain relationships with Mills and agents  

PERSONAL PROFILE

  • Proven experience in similar role and/or similar brand 
  • Understanding of development processes, collection building and seasonal dates 
  • Technical understanding of Knitwear and Yarns   
  • Knowledge and strong connections with Yarn mills  
  • Yarn negotiation skills for sampling and production  
  • Excel essential and Indesign skills preferable 
  • Italian speaking is mandatory  
  • Process and systems knowledge and experience -  PLM and SAP.  
  • Solution orientated: problem solver, flexible and adaptable, resilient  
  • Strong communication and partnership skills: relationship cultivator- negotiator, influencer and collaborator internally and externally 
  • Ability to work in a high paced environment  
  • Attention to detail and business acumen
